Taylor's Ports represent a three hundred year old tradition that began with the foundation of Taylor Fladgate & Yeatman in 1692. Three centuries of independant family ownership and experience in producing the finest Ports of all styles ensure that Taylor's Ports continue to be made to the highest standards, combining the best of tradition and innovation.
Extremes of climate, aspect and soil are all important influences in the production of port. Protected from a moderating maritime Atlantic influence, rainfall is dramatically low and temperatures vary hugely from winter through to summer. Gradients are extremely steep, so traditional planting is on tiers of horizontal walled terraces.
Taylor’s 20 Year Old Tawny is a magnificent, finely-balanced old tawny blend. The wines are selected from among the best red ports produced in the eastern areas of the Douro Valley, including Taylor’s own properties, and aged in oak casks. In the 20 Year Old, the fruit has mellowed still further than in the 10 Year Old, and the spicy, nutty aromas of ageing are more powerful and intense.
