Tasting Notes
A soft, medium-full bodied red wine with generous dark berry fruit flavours with hints of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. A fine tannin structure balanced by generous fruit sweetness
In 1853 Thomas Hardy bought a large block of land alongside the banks of the Torrens River, it was here that he built Hardys Bankside Cellars. Sadly the cellars were destroyed by fire in 1905 and this wine is a tribute to these first cellars.
The grapes for this wine were sourced from both the warm climate of the Riverland/Murray Darling areas and central regions of South Australia. Using our extensive viticultural and winemaking resources we have grown grapes and then blended parcels of wine to produce this Shiraz that shows complexity and a rich flavour profile.
A light oak influence during fermentation, with French and American oak staves during maturation to soften tannins.
